2D DESIGN & ILLUSTRATION

2D Design and Illustration includes graphic design for digital display, website graphics, icons, logos, posters, graphs, charts, brochures, page and presentation layout, and branding ephemeral. Illustrations have included graphics for the aforementioned as well as creative creatures, such as the image shown to the left. These images were created in Illustrator and Photoshop.

3D Design includes manual and computationally executed images built using 3D and AI software, such as: Maya; ZBrush; Blender; Rhino + Grasshopper; Houdini, and Unreal Engine 5. Photoshop was employed for postproduction.

PARAMETRIC
DESIGN

While most designs incorporate parametric strategies, designs on the parametric design page include images strictly composed from parametric strategies for 2D graphics.

Who Am I?

I am a 2D and 3D Designer and a recent graduate of the DesignMorphine program through the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy with a degree Master of Science degree in Computational and Advanced Design.

More on My Design Philosophy

My design philosophy is driven by a passion for conceptual creativity and manifesting unique results. Projects that highlight my processes include The Octopus, 11:11, and the Arm Challenge. I concentrate on unveiling the intrinsic poetry within a concept and meticulously constructing a unified narrative, implementing poetic devices such as repetition, musicality, metaphor, allegory, and rhyme. These elements are then interpreted through aesthetic means.

My Design Journey

My design journey began with a deep-rooted interest in art and poetry, evolving into a passion for Graphic Design after earning my Bachelor of Arts from Penn State University. This led to a creative career path that started with marketing and communications. This trajectory later expanded my communication and design skills into the realms of science and engineering within an academic setting at MIT.

Working under the mentorship of a renowned Image Specialist during my time at MIT proved to be invaluable in honing my design skills. Additionally, in 2018, I began undertaking MIT design coursework as a student while still working at MIT full-time. MIT coursework introduced me to the world of 3D and parametric design. Influenced by artistic idols such as Oskar Schlemmer, Yoko Ono, and Coco Chanel, my introduction to parametric and later computational design bridged the interpretive and conceptual creative process to the aesthetic by means of implementing conceptual rules into a set pattern and/or representation that yielded an entirely unique form.

At DesignMorphine, I further developed modeling skills using software such as Maya, ZBrush, Arnold, Houdini, Blender, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Unreal Engine 5, Midjourney, and other AI platforms. Of these programs, I am currently most confident in Maya, ZBrush, Blender, and Rhino. Additionally, I regularly employ Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for 2D design and illustration. My group work from DesignMorphine was recently showcased at the November 2023 Metrotopia Metaverse and ArchAgenda Debates, curated for the Chicago Architecture Biennial.

My Personal Passions

My passions include writing, poetry, art, running (I’m a Boston marathon qualifier), yoga (certified Vinyasa teacher), astrology, getting my wannabe nerd on with science documentaries, studying gemstones, and reading. I also love playing with my furry niece and nephews, Ayla, Anakin, and Yoda. My partner, family and friends are alright, too.
